CDL Driver - Residential

Responsibilities

• Drive residential waste collection trucks along designated routes to collect solid waste or recyclables.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit required condition reports.
• Operate mechanical packers to load and compact trash into the truck body.
• Assist helpers with loading waste into the truck hopper as route conditions require.
• Maintain DOT logbooks, daily route productivity sheets, and other required documentation.
• Ensure adherence to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and safety standards.
• Interact courteously with customers and the general public to address questions or requests.
• Monitor operations to detect and clean up loose debris to maintain site safety and cleanliness.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• At least one year of commercial driving experience or a valid CDL school certificate.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria according to company standards.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and maneuver trucks in tight or high-traffic spaces.
