CDL Driver - Residential

Responsibilities

• Drive rear-load, split body, or automated-side load trucks along designated residential routes to collect waste and recyclables
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit required condition reports
• Operate mechanical packers to load and compact trash into the truck body
• Assist helpers with loading solid waste into the truck hopper as required by route conditions
• Maintain DOT logbooks, daily route productivity sheets, and other required documentation
• Ensure adherence to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and safety standards
• Interact courteously with customers and the general public to address questions or requests
• Monitor operations to detect and clean up loose debris to maintain clean customer sites and road safety

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• At least 21 years of age
• Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience or a valid CDL school certificate
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria and demonstrate safe vehicle operation
• High school diploma or GED is desired but not required
