CDL Driver - Residential

Responsibilities

• Drive residential waste collection trucks along designated routes to collect solid waste and recyclables
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit required condition reports
• Operate mechanical packers to load and compact trash into the truck body
• Assist helpers with loading waste and ensure adherence to safety compliance and quality standards
• Maintain DOT logbooks, daily route productivity sheets, and other required documentation
• Interact courteously with customers and the general public to address questions or requests
• Maneuver vehicles safely in tight spaces and monitor for loose debris during dumping operations

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• At least 21 years of age
• Minimum of one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria and demonstrate safe vehicle operation
