CDL Driver

Responsibilities

• Drive waste collection trucks along designated residential routes to collect solid waste or recyclables
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and submit required condition reports
• Operate mechanical packers to load and compact trash into the truck body
• Assist helpers with loading waste and ensure adherence to safety compliance and quality standards
• Maintain DOT logbooks, daily route productivity sheets, and vehicle reports as required by law
• Interact courteously with customers and the general public to address questions or requests
• Use GPS and key maps to accurately locate service addresses and navigate routes

Requirements

• Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• At least one year of commercial driving experience or a valid CDL school certificate
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive function criteria and demonstrate safe vehicle operation
