CDL Delivery Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles according to state and federal transportation laws
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Manage and transport loads safely and timely over required routes
• Maintain required regulatory logs and electronic logging devices
• Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas
• Assist with loading and unloading goods using specialized equipment
• Assemble customer loads according to delivery lists
• Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and required paperwork
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report malfunctions
• Organize trailers in the shipping yard and assist with inventory control
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned trucks and the yard area
• Communicate business-impacting issues to the Store Manager
• Operate forklifts and other vehicles safely

Requirements

• Possession and maintenance of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or chauffeur's license
• Proven delivery driver experience with customer-facing interaction
• Working knowledge of and ability to comply with DOT regulations
• Ability to pass and maintain background, drug, and DOT physical testing
• Experience operating a forklift and straight truck
• Basic knowledge of lumber and building products
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs unassisted and stand/sit for 8+ hours
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and climb stairs while carrying material
