CD Clinic Nurse

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to chemical dependency patients using the nursing process, including assessment, treatment planning, and execution of medical plans.
• Conduct pre-admit assessments using the Patient Health Questionnaire and screen prospective patients for medical conditions requiring immediate treatment.
• Identify physical and psychosocial needs to formulate collaborative care plans with the health team.
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, referrals, and quality of life issues.
• Audit clinical charts to ensure completeness of treatment plans and continuity of care.
• Act as a resource to staff, patients, and physicians regarding Medicare guidelines and unit policies.
• Adhere to infection prevention guidelines, safety protocols, and Joint Commission national patient safety goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BCLS or ACLS Certification.
• 2 years of recent experience in general nursing OR 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
