About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee procuring, organizing, planning, and preparing all catering events
- Cook from scratch using local ingredients and develop new menu ideas
- Plan and develop menus and recipes for the cafeteria and catering events
- Establish and implement food preparation schedules for staff
- Manage administrative and financial duties including ordering and budget adherence
- Supervise, train, and coach staff members
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Maintain clear communication with the Executive Chef and District Manager
- Resolve customer and client concerns immediately
Requirements
- Three years of recent experience in high-volume catering food service
- Knowledge of special diets including Vegan, Halal, Gluten-Free, and Dairy-Free
- Serve Safe and/or Food Safe certification
- Experience with cost control and employee management
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict catering timelines
- Proficiency with computers and POS equipment
- Ability to read a BEO (Banquet Event Order)
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Chef Status
