Category SQM Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day Supplier Quality Management activities for the category supplier base in Asia.
• Maintain the Global Category Supplier Panel for the region in alignment with Purchasing Category Strategy.
• Perform VDA 6.3 audits and assess potential new suppliers in cooperation with R&D and Purchasing.
• Drive supplier improvement programs and manage escalation processes, including "Red Alert" management meetings.
• Support Plant SQM teams with Supplier Maturity Evaluations, APQP, Run@rate, and PPAP processes.
• Provide urgent support to overseas plants for solving quality issues related to Chinese suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science and Engineering (Metal materials or metal forming preferred).
• Mandatory VDA 6.3 certification.
• At least 5 years of experience in SQM or project management, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Extensive knowledge of AIAG, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, Six Sigma, 8D management, and SPC.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal forming, forging, machining, and heat treatment.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) for technical discussions and international negotiations.
• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Minitab or equivalent tools.
