Category Manager - Motor Insurance

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for all motor insurance products
• Manage product performance to ensure good customer outcomes and financial targets
• Oversee product development and governance, including Annual Product Reviews and Fair Value Assessments
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering squads to define the product roadmap
• Serve as the escalation point for complex product queries across customer service, compliance, and technology
• Manage insurance supplier relationships
• Conduct market research and support insurance strategy

Requirements

• Deep motor insurance knowledge including policy wordings and underwriting rules
• Proven experience in insurance product management and lifecycle strategy
• Expertise in financial services regulations, Fair Value Assessments, and Product Reviews
• Experience working with Product/Engineering squads to translate insurance concepts into technical requirements
• Experience negotiating with and managing third-party insurers or reinsurers
• In-depth knowledge of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) process
• Proficiency in data analysis for sales, claims, and financial data
