Category Manager

Responsibilities

• Drive growth and profitability for the Bath & Personal Care category by articulating a clear strategy and long-term vision.
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers to create a cohesive and efficient merchandising team.
• Strategically negotiate with vendors to secure optimal pricing, marketing budgets, promotional support, and favorable payment terms.
• Analyze key category metrics (KPIs) to drive improvements in pricing, gross margin, and product lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain a competitive product assortment by staying ahead of industry trends and consumer needs.
• Partner with Inventory Management and Planning teams to manage inventory turns, forecasts, and supply chain practices.
• Collaborate with the Marketing team to execute profitable and effective promotional activities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, merchandising, or a directly related role.
• Proven experience in category management and long-term strategic development.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of managing large-volume vendor partnerships.
• Exceptional analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple competing demands.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an e-commerce environment.
• Experience with natural products.
• Advanced degree such as an MBA.
• Proficiency with Google Business Suite.
• Experience with WMS, EDI, SAP, Asana, or Tableau.
