Category Manager

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year strategy for priority commodities
• Manage and qualify the portfolio of suppliers and second-tier suppliers
• Track spend patterns and trends to identify opportunities
• Establish long-term agreements with strategic partners to drive cost savings and quality
• Manage supplier performance and report metrics for improvement
• Facilitate monthly meetings to communicate strategy and category updates
• Execute RFP processes and provide costing analysis to leadership
• Work with Planning and Production teams to place jobs based on supplier capabilities
• Prepare and execute purchase orders with suppliers
• Drive change initiatives to develop and document procurement best practices

Requirements

• 7+ years experience initiating and negotiating supplier agreements
• Experience owning supplier relationships or categories
• Experience managing spend greater than $50 million
• Ability to perform spend analysis and interpret data into actionable steps
• Advanced skills in Microsoft applications
• Demonstrated project management experience
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and communicate across all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle
