Cash Application Specialist I

Responsibilities

• Apply payments to customer accounts correctly using exception reports
• Manage accounts with unapplied cash (OA) balances and educate customers on proper payment methods
• Ensure all unapplied cash issues are resolved before they become 90 days overdue
• Support customer service and collections teams by performing payment research requests
• Respond to inquiries regarding cash applications in a timely manner

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• Degree or specialized coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Administration
• 1-2 years of related experience in cash applications
• Fully bilingual (English/Spanish) with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, and Windows environments
• Ability to toggle between multiple computer applications and data sources with high attention to detail
