About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct resident orientations and review facility rules, rights, and responsibilities
- Develop and monitor Personal Development Plans (PDP) to help residents achieve personal goals
- Perform initial needs assessments and establish referrals to medical, mental health, and legal services
- Provide hands-on training, coaching, and life skills support to residents
- Supervise resident interactions and respond to inquiries within policy frameworks
- Maintain accurate files, statistical records, and resident confidentiality
- Assist with the intake and departure processes, including managing resident rent protocols
- Respond to emergencies and assist residents during physical, mental, or emotional crises
Requirements
- Completion of a formal post-secondary or college program (minimum two academic years)
- Certification in Addictions and/or Mental Health issues
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (or willingness to be trained)
- WHMIS 2015 and FOODSAFE Level 1 certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Criminal Record Review Act clearance for working with vulnerable adults
- Fluent spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in a residential setting
