About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident orientations and review facility rules, rights, and responsibilities
  • Develop and monitor Personal Development Plans (PDP) to help residents achieve personal goals
  • Perform initial needs assessments and establish referrals to medical, mental health, and legal services
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and life skills support to residents
  • Supervise resident interactions and respond to inquiries within policy frameworks
  • Maintain accurate files, statistical records, and resident confidentiality
  • Assist with the intake and departure processes, including managing resident rent protocols
  • Respond to emergencies and assist residents during physical, mental, or emotional crises

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal post-secondary or college program (minimum two academic years)
  • Certification in Addictions and/or Mental Health issues
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (or willingness to be trained)
  • WHMIS 2015 and FOODSAFE Level 1 certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Criminal Record Review Act clearance for working with vulnerable adults
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in a residential setting
