About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform enforcement and investigative duties in domestic relations cases
- Manage and coordinate a large, challenging caseload of clients
- Handle cases involving warrants, providing information on finances and child support processes
- Engage support payers to resolve warrants and avoid jail time
- Develop and enforce child support payment plans and conduct additional enforcement
- Handle Order to Show Cause hearings and arraignments by presenting cases to a judge
- Communicate extensively with clients, attorneys, community resources, and judicial staff
- Manage high-volume mail and phone correspondence
- Make formal recommendations to the Court
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Behavioral Science, or a related field
- Minimum of one year of experience in domestic relations, a court setting, or as a social/case worker
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of work experience in case processing, enforcement, or investigative work similar to Friend of the Court duties
- Previous experience working within a court system
- Fluency in a second language
