Case Worker

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active caseload for residents in an emergency men's hostel and Correctional Residence Facility
• Complete intake and assessments for each resident
• Provide problem-solving and referral counseling to shelter and CRF clients
• Develop a network of community resources and make referrals to existing services
• Design and implement interview schedules to evaluate quality of life improvements for program participants
• Assist front desk personnel with responding to client issues and crises
• Record all activities and incidents accurately using log books and incident reports
• Contact emergency services, such as police or ambulance, when necessary
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients, staff, and Centre records

Requirements

• University or College diploma in Social Service (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificate
• Ability to provide a Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work with socially disadvantaged populations and federal release clients
• Flexibility to work weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
