Case Worker

Responsibilities

• Build supportive relationships with clients at the Stevenson House Emergency Shelter to provide case planning and stability.
• Assess client needs and provide ongoing advocacy, follow-up support, and referrals to life skills training.
• Assist individuals in locating rental housing and ensuring all applications are completed accurately.
• Maintain up-to-date client records using the BC Housing HIFIS database, logbooks, and progress notes.
• Perform client intakes, prepare discharge plans, and provide follow-up to ensure successful transitions to housing.
• Accompany clients to essential off-site appointments, including medical, legal, and income assistance services.
• Support daily shelter operations, including providing security and assisting with client property management.

Requirements

• High School completion.
• Social services Diploma, or a related Diploma or Degree.
• Minimum of one year of frontline social service experience.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Windows, Email) and online application processes.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs.
• Ability to undergo applicable background and screening checks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an emergency shelter or treatment facility environment.
• Experience with the HIFIS database or similar housing management software.
