About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate case management services for immigrant clients to enhance safety and well-being, focusing on housing, public benefits, and self-sufficiency
- Interview clients and gather data in support of immigration applications in collaboration with attorneys
- Conduct screening interviews with survivors of gender-based violence to assess eligibility for public benefits
- Provide information, referrals, personal advocacy, accompaniment, and emotional support
- Assist with OVS victim compensation applications and prepare requests for educational and financial assistance grants
- Refer survivors to appropriate legal and social services both within and outside of Sanctuary for Families
- Maintain accurate electronic records of current and potential clients and perform administrative support tasks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
- Bilingual in English and a relevant community language (e.g., Spanish, French, Russian)
- Strong writing, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Deep understanding of and ability to work well with people of diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Passion for the mission of ending gender-based violence and human trafficking
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in case management, paralegal work, or administrative roles
- Experience working specifically with immigrant survivors of gender-based violence or human trafficking
- Experience completing compensation claims
