For over 50 years, Covenant House New York (CHNY) has been at the forefront of transforming lives by providing comprehensive shelter, housing, and wrap-around support services for vulnerable homeless, runaway, and exploited youth. CHNY impacts the lives of over 1,500 young people aged 16-24 every year.

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated counseling and case management services to engage young adults and promote wellness and housing stability
• Collaborate with youth to assess strengths and develop individual service plans (ISP)
• Meet with youth regularly to monitor progress toward ISP goals
• Advocate for youth with outside service providers and collateral services
• Create and maintain confidential records, charts, and logs for youth
• Ensure youth files are compliant with all regulatory requirements
• Complete incident reports and de-escalate crises following agency protocol

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or High School/GED with one year of residential experience with adolescents
• Experience working directly with young people using trauma-informed care and strength-based development
• Experience working with diverse groups
• Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Strong focus on child protection and resident safety
