About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise teams of staff providing eligibility determination, financial planning, and economic support services
- Monitor workflow for new applicants, family assistance cases, and safety net reopens
- Review case accuracy, timeliness of reports, and authorize benefits as required
- Manage teams responsible for interviewing applicants and assessing eligibility for public assistance, food stamps, and Medicaid
- Oversee staff managing housing needs for tenants at risk of homelessness
- Conduct regular reviews of outcome reports, audits, and client feedback to ensure performance standards
- Represent the Agency during fair hearings and prepare packets for resolution
- Prepare reports on key performance outcomes and implement corrective actions
Requirements
- High school diploma and three years of full-time experience in social/human services or related client services
- OR a baccalaureate degree plus 18 months of experience as a Benefits Opportunity Specialist
- OR a baccalaureate degree plus 18 months of experience in social/human services or related client services
- Must be permanent in the Associate Benefits Opportunity Specialist title
