About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and grow a book of business by developing strong relationships with carriers
- Negotiate freight rates and expand the carrier network
- Manage daily shipments to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
- Solve transportation problems with urgency and professionalism
- Strategically hunt for new carriers based on volume and lane density
- Maintain detailed records of current and past carriers
- Communicate load updates and issues to internal teams and external partners
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Google Drive and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, reports)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a high-energy environment
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to data and spreadsheets
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends
