About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled carpentry work including maintenance, repair, and new construction of building structures and fixtures.
- Work on concrete forms, wooden framework, partitions, doorframes, moldings, stairs, sub-floors, and floors.
- Fabricate building structures such as wood and metal stud walls, drywall, plasterboard, and millwork.
- Request and obtain necessary materials and equipment for assigned tasks.
- Perform estimates and produce inspection reports on assigned jobs.
- Respond to emergency call-outs as required.
- Assist with related construction tasks, such as installing concrete reinforcing rods and assisting in concrete pours.
- Ensure workplace safety by following established safe work practices.
- Monitor and check the work of apprentices or labourers when required.
Requirements
- Journeyperson trade certification in Carpentry.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.

- Working knowledge of relevant industrial safety regulations and building codes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
