About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry work including maintenance, repair, and new construction of building structures and fixtures.
  • Work on concrete forms, wooden framework, partitions, doorframes, moldings, stairs, sub-floors, and floors.
  • Fabricate building structures such as wood and metal stud walls, drywall, plasterboard, and millwork.
  • Request and obtain necessary materials and equipment for assigned tasks.
  • Perform estimates and produce inspection reports on assigned jobs.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as required.
  • Assist with related construction tasks, such as installing concrete reinforcing rods and assisting in concrete pours.
  • Ensure workplace safety by following established safe work practices.
  • Monitor and check the work of apprentices or labourers when required.

Requirements

  • Journeyperson trade certification in Carpentry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of relevant industrial safety regulations and building codes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to provide high-quality, courteous customer service.
