Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair structural woodwork including counters, cabinets, partitions, floors, doors, and framework
• Work from blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions to complete projects
• Use all carpentry and power tools, including power saws, shapers, and joiners, in a safe manner
• Install glass in windows, doors, and partitions
• Replace damaged ceiling and floor tiles
• Build cabinets and other wooden equipment within the carpentry shop
• Comply with all safety and hazardous material laws and regulations
• Attend required meetings and work extra-curricular functions or emergency repairs as requested, including nights and weekends

Requirements

• Experience and qualifications deemed appropriate and acceptable for the position
• Valid Texas driver’s license and a clear driving record
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with various power tools and woodworking machinery
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, strenuous walking, standing, and climbing
• Ability to work in various environments, including exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, and working on ladders
