About the role
Responsibilities
- Construct and repair structural woodwork including counters, cabinets, partitions, floors, doors, and framework
- Work from blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions to complete projects
- Use all carpentry and power tools, including power saws, shapers, and joiners, in a safe manner
- Install glass in windows, doors, and partitions
- Replace damaged ceiling and floor tiles
- Build cabinets and other wooden equipment within the carpentry shop
- Comply with all safety and hazardous material laws and regulations
- Attend required meetings and work extra-curricular functions or emergency repairs as requested, including nights and weekends
Requirements
- Experience and qualifications deemed appropriate and acceptable for the position
- Valid Texas driver’s license and a clear driving record
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency with various power tools and woodworking machinery
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, strenuous walking, standing, and climbing
- Ability to work in various environments, including exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, and working on ladders
