About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry duties including building, repairing, and installing various projects such as cabinets, wall partitions, floors, and ceiling systems.
  • Install door jambs, hang doors, install metal window frames, and set all types of door hardware including panic hardware.
  • Execute metal stud framing, hang drywall, insulate walls, and construct concrete forms or scaffolding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and plan specifications to carry out assignments accurately.
  • Operate and maintain various carpentry tools and equipment while following all safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot problems in structural woodwork and modify designs or methods as necessary to achieve quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • Journey-level carpentry skills with a working knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods.
  • Satisfactory completion of a certified 4-year trade apprenticeship program or equivalent experience and education.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic mathematics for layouts and cost calculations.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, fire codes, UBC, and ADA requirements.
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Physical ability to stand, crawl, bend, and lift or carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of OSHPD and JCAHO regulations.
  • Experience with U.L. Fire Stopping.
