Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry and painting maintenance duties
• Build complex furniture installations, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, or models
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions and select materials
• Paint and redecorate walls and other store areas
• Prepare surfaces for painting and apply finishes using spray guns or brushes
• Plan and order materials to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
• Maintain high safety standards while working on the shop floor

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant carpentry experience
• Experience in commercial business, construction, building industry, or exhibition installation
• General painting, decorating, and other trade skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain ideas and solutions verbally
• Good attention to detail and personal discipline
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
