Cargo Operations Center Duty Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a 24/7 Cargo Operations Center team, serving as the main point of contact for all stakeholders and airline functions.
• Monitor operational KPIs within the hub operation and implement corrective actions following root cause analysis.
• Act as the 24/7 subject matter expert and hotline contact for all aspects of Dangerous Goods carriage across the network.
• Manage ULD control and coordinate responses for freighter operations, including schedule changes and delays.
• Oversee escalated shipments and manage Special Handling Services (SHS & SHS+).
• Engage with departments to ensure effective use of capacity through flight and ULD planning.
• Conduct initial investigations into reported safety and security incidents.
• Maintain close working relationships with service providers, ramp handlers, and commercial teams to ensure On-Time Departure Performance.
• Oversee cargo tracing activities, permit applications, and documentation requirements for special products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher; a diploma in logistics, operations management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• At least five years of experience within the aviation industry.
• Proven expertise in Cargo Operations and Ground Handling.
• Subject matter expertise in Dangerous Goods handling.
• Strong knowledge of ULD control requirements.
• Good understanding of hub and network operations, as well as aviation computer messaging specifications.
