About the role
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and complete the recruitment and assessment process of carer applicants in accordance with organizational standards
- Schedule and conduct home visits and meetings with applicants, families, and referees to complete assessments
- Recruit foster carers through various media outlets, advertisements, and community information sessions
- Identify training requirements, safety concerns, or placement issues and provide recommendations to the care team
- Support potential carers in applying reflective and critical thinking regarding the impact of the caring role on their lives
- Contribute to the corporate review of assessment tools to ensure focus on children's outcomes and therapeutic care models
- On-board and train new staff members within the Carer Recruitment and Support System
Requirements
- Recognised Social Work qualification with eligibility for AASW membership, or a Bachelor of Psychology
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking child-focused assessments within a child and family welfare setting
- Significant casework experience from a strengths-based and culturally appropriate perspective
- Knowledge of the CARE model of therapeutic care or similar trauma-informed models
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
