Career Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to help students identify interests, strengths, and career aspirations
• Develop and organize career-related programs, workshops, and events to inform students about various career options
• Assist students with college and university applications, scholarship opportunities, and resume writing
• Connect students with internships, job shadowing opportunities, and mentorship programs
• Conduct career assessments and facilitate discussions regarding career choices and goals
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate career education into the academic curriculum
• Maintain relationships with local businesses, colleges, and organizations to promote student engagement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Career Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in career counseling or guidance, preferably in an educational setting
• Knowledge of various career paths, college admission processes, and workplace readiness skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage program logistics
• Ability to stay informed about labor market trends and educational pathway changes
