About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop career goals and provide individualized counseling for a cohort of medical students from matriculation through graduation
- Assist students with the assessment of career interests, skills, and professional aspirations
- Support residency application preparation, including CV/resume review, personal statement guidance, and ERAS application assistance
- Generate individual medical student performance evaluation (MSPE) reports for specific student cohorts
- Advise students on the residency interview process and professional development
- Foster student involvement in research and student organizations
- Collaborate with faculty, alumni, and academic partners to develop career preparation activities and events
- Attend medical student events, which may include routine evening and weekend hours
Requirements
- Master’s Degree
- 3 years of experience in career services and/or student leadership activities in higher education
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours to support student needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree specifically in higher education or academic advising
- Prior experience in medical student advising or pre-health advising
