Career Advisor, Industry

Responsibilities

• Coach students on career-related topics including resumes, cover letters, job search strategies, interviewing, and goal setting
• Develop, implement, and manage industry-focused career programming and resources
• Build and maintain high-level external partnerships within the CPG, Retail, and Industrial sectors
• Partner with employers to support their early talent recruitment strategies and engagement activities
• Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed on industry trends and employment opportunities
• Promote career services and programs to both internal students and external employer contacts
• Document stakeholder interactions and maintain the Rotman Commerce Portal

Requirements

• Master's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of five years of relevant, progressively senior professional experience
• Proven experience in coaching, advising, or facilitating (preferably in a university setting)
• Experience in career services, campus recruitment, or corporate relations
• Deep understanding of the CPG, Retail, and Industrial market sectors
• Proficiency in MS Office and experience with databases or Content Management Systems (CMS)
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Career coaching certification
• Experience working specifically with post-secondary students in a university environment
• Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle
