Career Advancement Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide career counseling and workforce development services to TANF participants to support economic mobility and successful employment.
• Identify, contact, and enroll prospective participants in the Post-TANF and Earned Income Disregard programs.
• Assess participant needs and address barriers to employment through individualized support, training, and education services.
• Promote upskilling and assist participants in attaining industry-recognized credentials and certificates.
• Manage and monitor support service payments for training, transportation, childcare, and other essential needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all participant contacts in the State of NH New HEIGHTS system.
• Meet with participants in various community settings, including local offices, libraries, and community colleges.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in case management, social services, human services, or a related field.
• Valid New Hampshire driver's license and access to transportation for regional travel.
• Strong computer competency, including proficiency with email, word processing, and internet-based job searches.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and participant confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business, or a related field.
