Career Advancement Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide career counseling and workforce development services to TANF participants to support employment outcomes and economic mobility.
• Identify and enroll prospective participants in the Post-TANF Program and the Earned Income Disregard pilot program.
• Assess participant needs and address barriers to determine goals for training, education, and job preparation.
• Support participants in upskilling, credential attainment, and obtaining industry-recognized certificates.
• Manage and monitor support service payments for training, transportation, childcare, and other essential needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all participant contacts in the State of NH New HEIGHTS system.
• Meet with participants in various community settings, including local offices, libraries, and community colleges.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of professional experience in case management, social services, human services, or a related field.
• Valid New Hampshire driver's license and access to reliable transportation for regional and statewide travel.
• Strong computer competency, including proficiency with email, word processing, and internet-based job search tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business, or a related field.
