Career Advancement Counselor

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized career counseling, employment training, and job preparation services to participants.
• Assess participant needs and address barriers to achieve economic mobility and successful employment outcomes.
• Identify and enroll prospective participants into the Post-TANF Program.
• Support upskilling, training, and the attainment of industry-recognized credentials.
• Manage and monitor support service payments for training, transportation, childcare, and other essential needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all participant contacts in the State of NH New HEIGHTS system.
• Meet with participants in various community settings, including local offices, libraries, and community colleges.
• Collaborate with Bureau of Employment Supports (BES) to ensure smooth program transitions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in case management, social services, counseling, or a related field.
• Valid New Hampshire driver's license.
• Access to reliable transportation for regional and statewide travel.
• Strong computer competency, including proficiency with email, word processing, and internet-based job searches.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict participant confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Business, or a related field.
