About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate patient care activities, including referral and case management for managed care, EAP, and workers’ compensation beneficiaries.
- Perform intake assessments, schedule referrals to local case managers, and conduct regular monitoring of patient progress.
- Explain benefits to employees, patients, and treatment providers while verifying eligibility and maintaining client communication.
- Participate in utilization review (UR) and quality assurance (QA) activities, coordinating with the physician review panel to ensure timely clinical reviews.
- Adhere to clinical policies, HIPAA standards, ERISA regulations, and URAC standards.
- Serve as a clinical liaison for EAP accounts, assisting with quarterly and annual reporting.
- Provide shared after-hours emergency coverage, collecting intake data and arranging for peer reviews.
- Maintain accurate patient and departmental files, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Active professional licensure or certification to practice in the behavioral health field within a US state or territory.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the mental health field.
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance (QA) or Utilization Review (UR) within a psychiatric setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computerized applications.

- Experience providing services to business and industry environments.
