Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 complex paediatric care for a child within their home environment
• Manage oxygen therapy and respiratory support
• Perform oral and nasopharyngeal suctioning
• Support daily chest physiotherapy routines
• Monitor and respond to dystonia episodes and seizure activity
• Administer prescribed medications accurately
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation and record keeping
• Engage the child in sensory and tactile activities to support wellbeing
• Ensure strict adherence to allergy protocols to prevent anaphylaxis

Requirements

• Previous experience in paediatric complex care is essential
• Proficiency in oxygen therapy management
• Experience with oral and nasopharyngeal suction
• Ability to support chest physiotherapy
• Knowledge of seizure management and medication administration
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to care
