Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated complex paediatric care for an 8-year-old child with a life-limiting genetic condition in a home setting
• Assist with daily activities, including supporting the child during school journeys
• Perform oral or nasopharyngeal suctioning as required to clear secretions
• Manage nutrition and medication delivery via a PEG tube
• Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping regarding the child's care and well-being
• Provide emotional support, companionship, and gentle interaction to ensure the child's comfort and joy

Requirements

• Proven experience in a paediatric complex care setting
• Practical experience with suctioning techniques
• Exceptional reliability and punctuality
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with a family
• A calm, patient, and compassionate nature
• Strong observational skills and a commitment to promoting dignity and respect
