Cardiac Sonographer

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic and stress echocardiograms under direct supervision
• Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing physician orders and previous studies
• Obtain diagnostic-quality cardiac ultrasound images following departmental protocols
• Document procedures, reports, and charges using Epic and Xcelera systems
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and medical staff
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound (Echocardiography) training program
• Minimum of six months of clinical training in cardiac ultrasound
• Registry eligibility through CCI or ARDMS
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Epic electronic medical records
• Experience using Xcelera cardiovascular imaging software
• Previous experience working in a hospital or academic medical center
