Cardiac Sonographer II

Responsibilities

• Perform complete cardiac ultrasound examinations, stress testing, and assist with 2D transesophageal examinations.
• Prepare patients for examinations and prepare quantitative echocardiographic measurements for reporting.
• Independently perform transthoracic examinations with appropriate use of contrast when necessary.
• Provide accurate preliminary interpretations and use digital archiving systems for measurements.
• Help train Level 1 Cardiac Sonographers and participate in process improvement activities.
• Engage in research and publications to support cutting-edge clinical advancements.
• Communicate with patients and staff in a professional and supportive manner.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• ARDMS or CCI accreditation (passed boards).
• 5 to 10 years of experience in ultrasound procedures, equipment, CW Doppler, and related cardiac anatomy/pathology.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with computer software and digital archiving systems.
• Strong interpretation skills to facilitate comprehensive examinations.
