Cardiac Sonographer I

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiography studies, including 2-D, M-Mode, Color Flow, and Spectral Doppler, via Transthoracic and Transesophageal methods.
• Conduct stress echocardiography and bubble studies for various patient populations, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by reviewing medical history, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to ensure comfort.
• Analyze and organize data, perform necessary calculations, and compile preliminary interpretations for physician review.
• Maintain equipment and work areas, ensuring all tools are clean, well-stocked, and in good working order.
• Coordinate with pacer technicians and assist with patient transport and departmental administrative tasks as needed.
• Participate in department performance improvement and quality assessment programs.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound/sonography program.
• Associate’s degree or higher in echocardiography/cardiovascular sonography.
• Ability to obtain RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) certification within one year of employment.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cardiovascular ultrasound setting.
• Experience with structural heart procedures.
