Carbon Project Originator

Responsibilities

• Source and build a pipeline of high-quality nature-based carbon projects across Africa and Southeast Asia.
• Conduct technical and commercial due diligence including baseline and additionality assessments, and social/environmental impact analysis.
• Lead feasibility and technical development studies (prospect, preliminary/feasibility, conceptual or pre-project).
• Coordinate and manage external developers, service providers and VVBs during study execution and validation.
• Support preparation, review and submission of Project Design Documents (PDDs) and other registration documentation under relevant carbon programs.
• Plan and conduct site visits to prospective project locations; collect on-ground data and stakeholder inputs.
• Represent Offset8 at industry events, conferences and client meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Agronomy, Conservation or Sustainable Development (Business Management / International Policy accepted).
• Hands-on experience guiding projects through validation and verification under major standards.
• Demonstrated ability to originate and structure carbon projects commercially.
• Experience working with nature-based solutions, forestry, agroforestry or sustainable agriculture projects.
• Proficiency in additional regional languages (e.g. French, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese) is desirable.
• Self-starter with strong commercial instincts and ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
