BOP Technician

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test and maintain Blowout Preventer (BOP) systems and associated pressure control equipment
• Perform hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics on BOP assemblies
• Operate hydraulic pressure testing units and BOP test pumps for functional and pressure testing
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and maintenance manuals
• Execute preventive maintenance programs and record work in CMMS
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Support rig operations and subsea equipment maintenance; follow well control procedures
• Mentor and train junior technicians; provide clear handover and documentation
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE procedures and safe work practices

Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification
• BOP inspection experience
• Hydraulics expertise
• Mechanical aptitude
• CMMS proficiency
• Pressure testing skills
• Well control knowledge
• Strong troubleshooting
• HSE compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Subsea BOP experience
• API BOP-related certification
• Offshore survival training (e.g., BOSIET/FOET)
• Rig operations experience
• Ability to train others
• Strong communication and teamwork
