Carbody Structure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Lead (MLE) and Carbody Design Lead in planning and monitoring design activities
• Design products in accordance with project, platform, and industrialization requirements
• Develop general structural concepts throughout the project execution phase
• Communicate the progress of detailed structural designs and associated space allocations
• Ensure product performance, manufacturability, maintainability, and testability
• Meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives
• Provide technical support to purchasing, industrialization, and production teams during the ramp-up phase
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless system and equipment integration
• Participate in design reviews and technical problem-solving throughout the product development cycle
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of methods, processes, and standards for railway carbody design

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a DEC with relevant mechanical design experience
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 computer-aided design (CAD) tools
• Strong knowledge of welded structures and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
• Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in both French and English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
