Carbide Weld Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic welding machines and grinders to produce Carbide Tipped Saw products.
• Perform exacting setups including electrode alignment, gap setting, and adjustment of control panel switches.
• Regulate nitrogen flow, air pressure, and carbide feeders to ensure optimal production.
• Monitor multiple machines to ensure product quality through ongoing inspections using optical comparators and other instruments.
• Use micrometers to check dimensions and post findings at the start of each shift.
• Utilize overhead electric hoists, hydraulics, and hand trucks to move materials and coils.
• Maintain required production records, counts, and routine machine maintenance logs.
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and the use of micrometers.
• Ability to work with numbers, including decimals.
• Ability to perform light physical effort, including lifting, pushing, and pulling between 5 to 25 pounds.
• 1-2 years of preferred experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment.
