Car Hauler Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform regular repair and preventative maintenance on the car haul fleet
• Execute welding and fabrication of car haul bodies and structures
• Repair lights, electrical systems, air systems, tires, brakes, and hydraulic systems
• Maintain driver vehicle inspection reports and ensure DOT compliance
• Perform maintenance at proper service intervals
• Maintain a safe and harassment-free work environment

Requirements

• Proven knowledge of preventative maintenance for Freightliner and Volvo
• Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, air systems, and air brakes
• Required welding and fabrication experience
• Required hydraulic experience
• Required previous experience at a car haul company
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds unassisted

Preferred Qualifications

• Freightliner and/or Volvo factory training
