Capital & Tooling Buyer

Responsibilities

• Source capital and tooling for the North American region
• Manage engineering change RFQs related to capital and tooling to ensure they are on time and within budget
• Negotiate contracts to achieve optimal pricing and delivery timelines
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Deliver annual cost reduction saving plans to meet procurement targets
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new, cost-competitive suppliers
• Perform supplier risk assessments and maintain performance scorecards
• Manage all procurement data, SAP contracts, and equipment documentation
• Collaborate with Engineering to assess suppliers based on technical and commercial competitiveness
• Monitor supplier financial status, capacity, and capabilities continuously

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with stamping dies, checking fixtures, press equipment, and joining technologies (MIG, spot, laser welding)
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
• Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Proficiency in SAP and JAGGAER
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management skills
• Supply chain management diploma or a university degree in an automotive technical field
