Canvasser

Responsibilities

• Drive inquiries and applications by tabling at community events, organizations, schools, and other frequented locations
• Create and execute a canvassing plan and schedule targeting specific areas and organizations for student recruitment
• Leverage existing relationships and develop new ones within the community to engage families about enrollment opportunities
• Assist the enrollment team with ongoing activities and events such as school fairs and Open House events
• Enter inquiries and applications into tracking systems and databases

Requirements

• At least 2 years of canvassing experience OR 1 year of experience in a NYC Charter School
• Strong communication skills to adapt to different audiences
• Ability to work strategically to maximize new student enrollment
• Commitment to the mission of college success and civic engagement

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish language fluency
• Extensive relationships within the community and CBOs
• In-depth knowledge of admissions processes and best practices
• Experience in community organizing, marketing, or charter school recruitment
