Campus Used Car Director

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all used vehicle inventory across multiple rooftops within the campus
• Develop and execute aggressive used vehicle acquisition strategies through auctions, trade-ins, and online platforms
• Appraise trade-ins and vehicle purchases using disciplined valuation strategies and market awareness
• Manage the entire reconditioning process to improve speed, reduce downtime, and control costs
• Develop stocking strategies based on market demand, vehicle age, and profitability potential
• Monitor vehicle aging and implement action plans to reduce stale inventory
• Manage pricing and digital merchandising strategies to ensure vehicles are retail-ready
• Utilize CRM, DMS, and market analysis tools to track inventory performance and profitability
• Coordinate with service departments, detail teams, and outside vendors to maintain operational efficiency
• Report directly to executive leadership on inventory performance, acquisition, and turn rates

Requirements

• Proven experience in used vehicle management within a dealership environment
• Strong vehicle appraisal expertise with a track record of disciplined buying decisions
• Deep understanding of inventory turn management, wholesale/retail pricing, and gross profit optimization
• High proficiency with dealership technology including CRM, DMS, and inventory management systems
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to analyze operational data and turn insights into measurable business results
• Valid driver’s license
