Campus Safety/Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property by responding to emergencies, calls for service, and requests for safety and security services.
• Patrol the College campus, including student housing, academic facilities, and grounds, to maintain 24-hour coverage.
• Enforce state laws, campus policies, and parking regulations.
• Respond to violent, sensitive, or unsafe situations and secure affected areas.
• Conduct interviews and investigations and document all activities in detailed incident reports and daily logs.
• Provide medical services, support, and escorts to the campus community.
• Investigate fire and intrusion alarms and assist with emergency repairs or Environmental Health & Safety calls.
• Maintain confidentiality and serve as weather- or emergency-essential personnel during college closures.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Prior working experience in safety and security.
• Valid Minnesota Driver's License.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to pass a background investigation and Minnesota Security Guard Background Check.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of the position, including extensive walking, climbing, and exposure to various weather conditions.
• Ability to complete First Responder Certification and Field Officer Training Program following hire.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
