Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Perform high visibility vehicle and foot patrols on campus, adjacent rental homes, and fraternity/sorority houses to deter crime and apprehend lawbreakers
• Respond to emergency calls, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, and requests for assistance
• Prepare detailed incident reports, daily logs of shift activities, and work requests to correct deficiencies
• Provide safety escorts on and off campus and ensure authorized access to college buildings and facilities
• Enforce parking and vehicle permit regulations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• One year of security experience
• Valid California BSIS guard card
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace
• Ability to work any shift, including days and nights

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST) courses
• Experience working in safety or security roles on a college or university campus
