Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Act as a first responder to campus emergencies, including medical and criminal incidents
• Enforce campus policies, regulations, and the Student Code of Conduct
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of campus facilities to identify hazards or unusual occurrences
• Monitor surveillance cameras, radio communications, and emergency phone lines
• Manage building access, including unlocking facilities for events and ensuring secure locks
• Direct traffic and provide crowd control during special campus events
• Complete detailed investigations and write incident, accident, and activity reports
• Serve as a liaison between the College and local law enforcement

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid state driver’s license
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technologies
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs regularly (and up to 175 lbs in emergencies)
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overnight hours
