Campus Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and security assignments and conduct campus patrols to ensure a secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Respond to emergency and crisis incidents, including first responder calls, fire/security alarms, and medical emergencies
• Manage access control, perform after-hours property checks, and conduct routine building rounds
• Handle dispatching duties, transportation services, and the production of University Identification cards
• Maintain professional conduct while handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in law enforcement, campus safety, or a university campus environment
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for significant periods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with dispatch communication platforms
• Ability to work flexible hours, including 3rd shift rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in CPR, First Response, Mental Health First Aid, or OSHA
• Experience with campus security systems and radio communications
• Strong conflict-resolution and interpersonal communication skills
